Maximilian Werner – The Bone Pile

Join us Tuesday, May 8th, at 7 pm for a reading and panel discussion with Maximilian Werner, author of The Bone Pile: Essays on Nature & Culture.

Max teaches writing and rhetoric at the University of Utah. In The Bone Pile, he uses the vehicles of fly fishing, everyday experience, and some of our most sacred rituals to explore the origins and limitations of our behavior and ideas. These essays range from the quasi-mystical to the polemical and from the polemical to the ecological. However different each of these essays may be, together they represent an incisive study of human and nonhuman life and of the environment that unites us.

Max will be joined for a panel discussion by Doug Christensen, an essayist and carpenter who teaches LDS seminary in Salt Lake.

This event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
